Enjoy the show!
It has been great, a wonderful experience, and a lot of hard work. Thanks must go out to Dorian for a super class (my new favorite) and Kim for being such a great group partner and so much fun to work with.Enjoy the show!
The End... of the final project creation process
The end to the editing of the final project has come. It's now ready and set to be exported and posted for all to see. Then, exported again as a full quality version and hopefully, burned onto a dvd to keep and be able to show off our hard work to our friends and family.
The last day of editing went like this. I recorded the first verse and chorus of the "angel" song for our final scene. Then, drove over to campus and we chose our background music from the assortment we had found and put it into our timeline where we wanted it. We played with the audio levels until we felt they were right and voila! Editing was finished!
So, enjoy the show! :)
Last night, we were able to completely finish the jet scene and bring it over into our movie timeline. Today, Kim and I will be putting on the finishing touches... adding the background music and adding the credits. It should be a lot easier to work with the movie since last night we left it to export our whole timeline into one big clip. This way there'll be a lot more space on the computer and it should run smoother, making it easier to add in our music. After today, we'll just be able to kick back on Wednesday and enjoy watching the show!
Filming is done for the movie!
The final scene that we had left to shoot was done a few hours ago! Kim, Donna, and I met out at the airport and were able to film the scene with the jet. Justin and Kim did an astounding job once again with their roles as Michael and Sarah. It was hot and muggy, but they also had the big lights beaming on them, and still did a fantastic job. I can't wait to the get this new video into the computer and edit it into the movie tomorrow! We weren't able to get a shot of the jet door closing behind Michael after he parted from Sarah, but we got another shot that will take its place and work great as well. Hopefully the computer will be able to handle the new video we're going to import!
Final project - Editing
We were able to get a ton of editing done last night. We were even able to get some of the clips from our second camera which were imported onto a separate computer by transferrring one or two at a time using my flash drive. We still have one part from the office scene that we need to transfer to the main computer we've been editing on, but it was far too large to put on a flash drive, so we hope to be able to do that today with an external firewire drive. Hopefully we'll have time to do some more editing too. We got the bulk of the apartment and restaurant scenes edited with the biggest part left there being the audio. We still have to play with that in certain parts. For instance, the message from the answering machine was cut off when we put that scene together with different clips, so we'll have to put that audio back in. So yea, it was definitely worth it to drive the distance down to campus on a Tuesday to be able to work on this. The biggest downfall of that however, is once you give that keycard back to Bridget, there is no way to later get into the lobby, meaning no way to get to the restrooms. Luckily, our campus isn't too big lol!
I think it's coming along wonderfully! We've shot all of the apartment scenes, the restaurant scene, and the airport scene will be done this Sunday.
The apartment scenes took us almost 4 hours. We played with the lighting and different angles, and ended up getting a lot of great footage to choose from when editing. The hardest part was recording the computer conversation. The white on the computer screen caused the camera to go in and out of focus and the screen to jump. It took a lot of patience to stabilize it, but we got it.
The restaurant scene was great. It was fun to work on too. We were fortunate to be able to get the use of a dining room there all to ourselves and definitely thankful to those that made it happen. The actor turned out to be perfect for the part of Michael and did a great job with Kim in the scenes. My favorite part is the shot of their hands coming together and the feather (you'll see what I mean next week), although it was hard to shoot -- again, white on white causing blurring problems, but we got it.
We already got a lot of editing done through the first apartment scene and by the end of this week, should have a ton more done!
